Stokesville - Virginia NICA High School League - Trailer
We are really excited (and proud actually) to have hosted a Virginia NICA High School League Mountain Bike Event at the Stokesville Lodge and Campground a few weeks back. The trails system is only one third complete at 3 miles as of October 2015. Thanks to the amazing help from Richard Edwards of the International Mountain Bicycling Association and Jeremy Wimpey of Applied Trails Research we laid out a very creative trail system on the property bounded by the National Forest and the North River. Big props to Brock Lowery of Ironwood Outdoors Inc. and Chad Irey of @Dirt Artisans for making a special effort to come in and get this build done with us in a tight time frame. We are psyched to offer these family friendly trails to campers and those who have day use passes. Thanks to Rick Bartels for getting our event on the NICA Virginia schedule and the team of Andrea Dvorak / Peter Hufnagel / Andy Guptill for running a great series and event. Contact Chris Scott of Shenandoah Mountain Touring if you want to come ride or rent a bike to ride these great trails or the surrounding National Forest Trails. SMT offers day tours and guided overnight trips to help you get away for an adventure and skills clinics to improve your riding with team camp options too. Thanks for the edit Jack Anderson of BAS Productions. Jack flatted out of his race in the first mile and ran to get his camera to capture and create this magic.
