WFS A @ Earth Treks Crystal City

Last Tuesday, Mr. Lavoie took WFS A to the new Earth Treks Crystal City gym to compete. It was a big comp with three other teams attending, and a massive new gym to climb in. Despite the competition, both Varsity and JV were able to win with an impressive lead on the other teams.

Some notable events were KJ completing both a 5.12a and a 5.12b, earning the team 33 points, and Gus Dupree who had a personal record at 19 points.

WFS vs. EHS @ Sportrock Sterling

Coach Woody took WFS black up to Sport Rock Sterling on Tuesday the 19th to compete against Episcopal High School in a bouldering competition.  The boys climbed well against a strong Episcopal squad.

Notable events were David Vu putting together his best competition of the season and freshman Thomas Griffin who had an absolutely unbelievable day, and will be a force to reckon with over the coming years.

EHS vs. WFS Home Climbing Competition: More Pics

EHS vs WFS home climbing competition

On Friday the climbing team hosted EHS for their only home competition of the season.  Both teams showed up strong and climbed their hearts out.  Unfortunatly, EHS was able to complete a few problems that our guys were not and bested us 148-134.  Top honors for the day goes to KJ Pankratz with an amazing 40 points scored by completing two V7s and a V6 (nearly replacing that with a V8).  Hats off to all who helped make this event a huge success and all of the spectators who helped to make sure that both teams had a great experience.
