MTB with Rapidan

The boys of Rapidan have been figuring out how to change a flat, do a pre-ride safety check and fit a mountain bike in anticipation of an on campus (and eventually off campus) bike ride.

 

 

IV Form Ropes Course Day 2

35 boys from Walker B and C6 descended on the ropes course for four hours of fun, team building and communication work on the low ropes course, Alpine Tower and Carolina Climbing Wall.  The students instructors had a great set of activities ready for the guys, and everyone came down with a great attitude!  Truly a fantastic day full of fun and experiential learning! Special thanks to Mrs. Tallman and Mr. Vickers for their help today.

Rope Throw Rodeo

Met the boys of Rapidan at the pool today for a rope throw rodeo, and some water safety teaching.  The boys learned how to jump into swift water, break eddie lines, toes and noes swift water swimming technique and how to throw and ropes.  After they were done the guys got in their boats, and worked on their role.  

IV Form Ropes Course Sunday

The boys from C-Dorm came out to the ropes course this Sunday for some team-building, problem solving, physical challenge, and fun.  The student leaders did a great job of keeping the guys engaged, and the boys seemes to have a great time.

Reel Rock Film Tour

Pool day!

Mr Vickers and Mr Reid took the guys from Rapidan down to the pool today to fit boats and gear in preparation for some up coming trips. Students also practiced wet exiting in order to get more comfortable in the water and in their kayaks.

Bikes in the Forest

Who wants to go mountain biking? 

The MONT 24 hour bike race is the largest of it's type in Australia. The 2012 event was held at East Kowen Forest near Canberra. This is a collection of time lapse footage taken between the hours of 10pm and 3am.
