WFS A @ Sport Rock Alexandria

Yesterday Woodberry A traveled to Alexandria to compete against Georgetown Day  and Fling Hill. We narrowly lost to Georgetown by 4 points but managed to double Flint Hills score. First place individually was shared by six climbers, our own KJ Pankratz, and Trevor Barker, alongside four climbers from Georgetown. KJ and Trevor both climbed two 5.12s early and had trouble finishing anything else, as there were only two climbs rated higher in the gym. Despite the loss, it was a great competition.

WFS vs EHS @ Woodberry

Last Saturday Woodberry hosted our annual climbing competition with Episcopal. The climbing gym was cleaned top to bottom and all new routes were put in. The gym was packed as our top seven climbers climbed their top seven. KJ Pankratz and Trevor Barker tied for first place racking up forty points each. Third place was taken by the lead EHS climber. It was a good competition but our climbers managed to win by a respectable margin.

WFS A @ Earth Treks Crystal City

Last Tuesday, Mr. Lavoie took WFS A to the new Earth Treks Crystal City gym to compete. It was a big comp with three other teams attending, and a massive new gym to climb in. Despite the competition, both Varsity and JV were able to win with an impressive lead on the other teams.

Some notable events were KJ completing both a 5.12a and a 5.12b, earning the team 33 points, and Gus Dupree who had a personal record at 19 points.
