Mountain Bike Season!!!

Mountain Bike Skills Developlment at Bryce Resort

Dr. Jarry and I headed out to Bryce Resort yesterday to work on our ability to teach descending, cornering and pressure control to the boys on the mountain bike team. We worked with a great guide who has worked at the park for five years and has his level 2 instructor certification from TerraMethod out of Whistler.  We did around 14 runs at the resort for a total of around 8,000 feet of descending.

Justin places 7th at Nationals!

Justin Mitchell, a varsity mountain biker for Woodberry Forest School, recently raced at Cross Country Mountain Biking Nationals in Bear Creek, PA after qualifying as the 4th best racer in the state of Virginia. He placed 7th in a field of about 40 Category 2 racers. Justin has recently upgraded his license to Category 1, the highest rank beneath Pro.

Sports campers do some climbing

I had the great opportunity to work with some of the sports camp teams with Mr. Budlong on the climbing wall and alpine tower this week!  Check out the pictures below.  The guys had a blast.
